Au Revoir & Sayonara
<04.09.05> Toho and Jason set sail for Maine until further notice. All presents brought were donated to Community Thrift to make room for belongings packed into the Honda. I-80 chosen as the preferred route so the Deep South can kiss it. Pierre shuns technology but goes apeshit over digital picture quality and even takes some gems himself. Metro Bar & Marcello's Pizza, Castro, San Francisco.

Free Day At Conservatory
<04.05.05> Free day at the Conservatory of Flowers in GGPark(1st Tues) may not be like the zoo of the SFMOMA(also free 1st Tues) but definitely worth more than a casual glance. One of the oldest wooden-framed "greenhouses" on the West Coast, it was badly damaged during the Loma Prieta Quake of '89. Zeeshan Haider(friend and fellow dancing buddy) was one of the Project Managers during the reconstruction. Luckily, it's only a few minutes from home base and a gorgeous day out. The light coming through the stained glass made for several nice effects. Conservatory of Flowers, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

E-Dub In The Tub
<04.04.05> Mellow Mon at Justin & Julie's joint. Old friends, yummy homecooked snacks, and whiskey converge over a frenetic game of Outburst(my 1st time playing). Mental note to ensure Julie and Bree are on my team again. Brought a massive jug of Evan Williams (E-Dub) whiskey and left only a smidgen for our hosts to polish off. InflatoTub officially a hit and perfect for those surprise 24hr notice landlord inspections. Bernal Heights, San Francisco.

A Fool's Gambit
<04.01.05> Gene X, Jack, Andy and the crew at Orange Photography (orangephotography.com) christen their new space with some silly photo shoot action and tasty beverages. Some were fooled by the date but those who came had their mugs smug for the lens. Lighting by Rumpus Room. Tunes by Shin, Micron, and Exploding Boy. Orange Photography HQ, SOMA, San Francisco.

1984 +1 = 1985
<03.31.05> 1984 at the Cat Club was my favourite 80s joint until it got too crowded and the drinks became seriously overpriced. Not to mention it made it on several SF guidebooks(along w/ 1015 and The Top) = total madhouse. But if you come with a formidable posse, get decked out in 80s garb, and most importantly: park the car well in advance in the alley around the corner and stock it with booze(hence, 1985) it will make for an unforgettable evening. Cat Club, SOMA, San Francisco.

Armin van Buuren
<03.30.05> When word gets out that Spundae is having one of the world's top-rated DJs play for free it spreads like wildfire. Nice turnout for a Wed night as even the most elusive hermits come out of the woodwork. Syd Gris warms things up, Gabriel & Dresden smack it, then Armin van Buuren brings it on home. Six bodies prove to be almost too much for my little red beast of a car as strange smells emanate. Club Mighty, San Francisco.

Album: Qoöl Ladies
<03.30.05> Brandon rolls into town from Budapest just in time to catch the hot and talented lady DJs of SF take care of business at Qoöl. But the first order of business was to stock the fridge with booze and food for his stay. And have dinner with some other hot ladies at the homestead before piling into the little red rocket for some Dance Dance action. Vinyl vixens: Kat, Tamo, Seraphim, Forest Green, Amber, Anita Lofton, and Audio Angel on the mic. Mission, Inner Richmond, Upper Page, and 111 Minna, San Francisco.

Adaptive Path
<03.24.05> Four year anniversary party for design/consulting firm Adaptive Path (adaptivepath.com). Got booked through the illustrious Erika Hall who runs another design outfit across the street(muledesign.com) who's friends with these cats. When you combine an open bar, my lights, 60s exotica + lounge music, and a taco truck parked out front to cater the food you really can't go wrong. Lighting by Rumpus Room. DJs: Brian Cox and Kylen Campbell (aka Powerlounger). Adaptive Path HQ, SOMA, San Francisco.

On The Fly Films
<03.20.05> Last minute lighting for Steve & Greg of On The Fly Films (ontheflyfilms.com) who I've worked with at Opel/ Opulent Temple parties. Needed some dance lighting for a mock DJ promo spot despite me being totally cracked out from doing an all night lighting gig at a house party just hours prior. Luckily I was picked up and fed but the real treat was to see the crew in action behind the scenes. Antoine, the owner of the space doubled as the famous DJ with excellent results. Big House Studios, San Francisco.

Shake, Mick, Shake!
<03.17.05> Gabriel Byrne, true Irishman, hosts an intimate get together away from the rowdy hooligan crowds. Ingredients on hand: stout beer, vanilla ice cream, green crème de menthe, and whiskey. Shamrock Booze Shakes are a GO! Nick Parker makes 40th apology for constantly asking me to play Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is" right after I did at a previous soft rock gig. Casa del Byrne, San Francisco.

Album: Mishapalooza
<03.12.05> Definitely the most interesting party I've ever been to. Misha and fellow cronies band together to bring jello wrestling, DJs, booze, and karaoke and mix it up like it was second nature. What ensued could have been construed as controlled mayhem and an unforgettable time was had by all. DJs: Eric Zhang, Nat Morse, Drei, Ding Dong, and Kuze. Funktion 1 Sound System by Ultra Magnetic. Karaoke Funland by Nick. Lighting by Rumpus Room. Live jello cam by Wesley and Co. Early morning good samaritan action yeilds even more bounty.

Boys Night In
<03.15.05> Reconnecting with the lads after a short lapse. Larry shows up with a Big Mac from McNasty's and a 32oz. Miller High Life. The table is divided between the beers and the booze(booze always wins). And when it comes to the monkey hat - nobody can resist. Upper Page, San Francisco.

Move Little b!
<02.28.05> Little b leaves the Upper Page nest for new digs right down the street. Fatty Jay borrows the Ford Monstrosity for the task and disrupts traffic patterns in 6 neighboring counties. Blood sugar levels drop and boxes get heavier until Balazo comes to the rescue. Special guest appearances by Sandy & Smoove. Upper Page, San Francisco.

Housewarming of the Decade
<02.26.05> Der Lieberman's whole house housewarming brings quite the motley crew together. 3 apartments ante up with their own posse to meet in a flurry of booze, rain, soft rock, country, 80s, house, karaoke, and show tunes. Tunes by Mr. Fong and Derek Barncard. My 2hour opening set turned into an epic 4hour journey when the Italians kept Derek from leaving the restaurant. Lighting by Rumpus Room. David's burger gets nabbed and only tequila is left behind the next day. Noe Valley, San Francisco.

Jonas' Going Away Bash
<02.23.05> Jonas Judd leaves Fog City for sunny Puerto Vallarta as a resort manager, the lucky S.O.B. Lorna offers up her pad for post- Minna antics but I forgot about all the home-cooked food and we proceeded to Osha Thai first. Luckily, appetites and spirits are rarely daunted. Album: Qoöl Soöts
<02.23.05> Dressed up qoölios in the house to show that suits ARE Qoöl. Paradigms come crashing down as neckties become more than mere nooses for financial district foölios and the true welcoming nature of Qoöl is brought to light. Or maybe the whole point was lost due to strong drinks and too much TV. Top-level executives for the evening: Jax, Hyper D, Jeffrey Allen, Erik Rumors, Gil, Jerry Bonham. 111 Minna, San Francisco.

Tempura Night
<02.20.05> Relaxing evening of tempura, gyoza, wine, and sake with newfound friends. Enough tempura made to send to troops overseas but it's always better fresh. Late night viewing of 'Groove' w/ cameos by yours truly for some laughs. Got lost in poofy couch as most visitors end up doing. Stacie & Erika's pad, Richmond, San Francisco.

<02.16.05> Entropy fools in house to represent w/ Qoöl fools. Deck lads: Illya, Scott Carrelli, Cor, Austin Gregory, Jondi, and Spesh. Pancake Playhouse kids out in full force in preparation for Fatbeats Diner. First documented proof that sinister forces are out to take Frank Chu's "job". 111 Minna, San Francisco.

Opel Storage
<01.30.05> The Opel gang reconnect over playa-caked gear from lord-knows-when. We were graced with beautiful weather all day and cleaned house in a matter of hours. Good thing there was a stash of V-8s and Rock Stars to keep us going. Random items of note from previous party cleanups: single high heel shoe, black lace bra, and Hello Kitty panties. Qoöl äranji
<01.26.05> äranji takes on Qoöl and passes out the funniest flyers known to man. Reliable sources report that it felt like "1998" which was due in large part to the old schoölios in attendance. Cabin boys: Barefoot, Hyper D, Jeff Richmond, J:miah, Scott Carrelli, & Jondi. 111 Minna, San Francisco.

Album: Last Qoöl of 2004
<12.22.04> Final night of Qool for 2004 was quite a blowout. DJs: Kuze, Gil, Jerry Bonham, and others. The floor was bouncing like a trampoline as Mr Bonham knocked us all down like bowling pins. Or something like that. 111 Minna, San Francisco.

Rambo II Movie Night
<12.21.04> Due to the overwhelming response of Rambo III's screening for Bad Movie Night, Rambo: First Blood Part II had to be shown. In this segment of "America Wins" cinema John Rambo infiltrates the old 'Nam POW camp he escaped from, falls for a local girl, liberates POWs, and kicks major ass. Cozy Cabernet Sunday
<12.19.04> Miss Squeaky played hostess with the mostest again with wine, pizza, and gifts for all. Excellent pizza and various homemade accoutrements were complemented by wine so complex my tastebuds are still confused. The fish tank provided a superb alternative to the usual living room TV set. Casa del Funkmaster y Squeaky, Mount Davidson, San Francisco.
